Corrective Chiropractic

Corrective Chiropractic in Canoga Park

At 1 Body 1 Life Chiropractic, corrective chiropractic focuses on more than where you hurt. We evaluate posture, spinal alignment, movement and function to better understand what may be contributing to your concerns and what type of care may be appropriate.

Care begins with an individualized examination. When clinically indicated, standing X-rays may be used to evaluate spinal structure, alignment and abnormal spinal curves. These findings provide a starting point for recommendations specific to you rather than using the same approach for every patient.

Corrective chiropractic looks beyond symptoms to evaluate posture, spinal alignment and abnormal spinal curves—and measure whether those findings improve over time.

Not All Chiropractic Care Is the Same

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before, you may already know that chiropractic care can help you feel or move better. But chiropractic is a broad profession, and different chiropractors may have different approaches to examination, treatment and long-term care.

At 1 Body 1 Life Chiropractic, we place particular emphasis on objective examination findings, posture, spinal alignment and abnormal spinal curves. When clinically indicated, standing X-rays may also be used to evaluate spinal structure and alignment. Your findings—not a predetermined treatment protocol—help determine what type and amount of care may be appropriate.

We Start With an Examination, Not a Treatment Plan

Corrective chiropractic begins with understanding the individual. We want to understand what brought you in, what you would like to improve, how your body is functioning and whether there are postural, mechanical or structural findings that may be contributing to the problem.

Your examination may include evaluation of posture, spinal and joint motion, movement patterns and orthopedic or neurological testing when appropriate. Digital posture analysis may be used to measure postural changes over time, and standing, weight-bearing X-rays may be taken when clinically indicated to evaluate spinal alignment, structure and abnormal spinal curves.

These findings give us a starting point. They also help determine what type of care may be appropriate, how much care may be needed and which parts of that care can reasonably be performed at home.

Your Findings Determine Your Care

Not every patient needs the same care because not every patient has the same findings. Recommendations are based on what we find during your examination, the significance of those findings, your goals and how you respond to care.

For some patients, care may involve a more comprehensive in-office corrective program using chiropractic adjustments, specific corrective exercises and corrective spinal traction when appropriate.
